The woman, named Columbine, was newly returned from school in Denver to her beloved Colorado range
land, where she must face four men in her life who would signify for her either happiness and love or sorrow
and pain. Among the four was a mysterious rider who came no one knew from where: a man of middle age,
gentle, kindly, but so terrible a gun fighter that they called him "Hell Bent" Wade. Wade would come to
play the part of fate in all their lives.
